Pilot #1
AI-supported holistic irrigation / fertilization / crop growth
- Country: Serbia
- Lead Partner: TERRA LITTERA (TL)
- Other Partners: SYNELIXIS (SYN)
- Sector: Southeast (Balkans)
Pilot #1 covers 205 hectares and features advanced center-pivot irrigation, powered sustainably by solar energy. This land is used to grow a diverse range of crops, including corn, soybeans, peppers, dill, parsley, and peas. Pilot #1 aims to optimize crop yield and soil health, by incorporating innovative crop rotation and soil-nutrient management practices.
Objectives
Smart Irrigation and Fertilization
Using IoT sensors and agri-drones, real-time data on micro-climate, soil conditions, and crop health are captured, fine-tuning irrigation and nutrient delivery. This procedure reduces the use of water, fertilizers, and pesticides and supports sustainable, organic farming.
AI-Powered Decision Support
Leveraging GEORGIA's AI-supported decision system, integrating IoT data with RGB and hyperspectral imaging, to create intelligent, real-time insights for precise crop management.
Pipeline Integrity Monitoring
Sensors-detecting pipeline leaks, ensuring efficient water distribution and security.
Technology in Action
Data Collection
Pilot #1 provides continuous real-time data on field conditions, equipped with IoT sensors for soil moisture, temperature, NPK content, and leaf wetness.
Automation & AI
AI-powered analysis, automatic valve control, and data are applied to enable more efficient, adaptive irrigation.
