The Cyprus University of Technology is a public university founded in Limassol, Cyprus in 2003 and consists of six faculties. CUT aspires to develop itself into a modern, pioneering University able to offer education and high level research in leading branches of science and technology which have high impact on the economic, technical, and scientific sectors. The Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics offers the following two orientations with the respective curricula: (a) Civil Engineering and (b) Surveying Engineering and Geoinformatics Engineering. The Civil Engineering Department of the CUT aims to develop high-level courses that will lead students towards ensuring undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The graduates can work in a dynamic and stimulating environment that allows them to develop the wide range of skills making their presence important in the upgrading and improvement of quality of life and space infrastructures in which they operate. The department aims to provide high quality education and research programmes with international guidelines, as well as provide to students a direct engagement with industry, consultancy firms and public bodies.

Activities in the project

Within the GEORGIA project, CUT in collaboration with CPPC and ECoE, will explore and demonstrate solutions for the efficient and sustainable use of resources—such as water and fertilizers—in semi-arid and land-degraded areas of Cyprus, covering a minimum area of 10 hectares. CUT will actively contribute to the Cyprus Pilot by providing the technical solution.
