A Success Story from the Field: Terra Littera Highlights GEORGIA in Practice

We are pleased to share a recent article published by our partner Terra Littera, which highlights the practical implementation of the GEORGIA project on the farm of Boško Oluški in Novi Kneževac, Serbia. Covering 205 hectares and cultivating crops such as corn, soy, peppers, parsley, and peas, the farm now operates using a smart irrigation system supported by IoT sensors and automated valves. This system allows water to be distributed precisely according to the plants’ needs, reducing water usage, pesticide application, and fertilizer dependency—while supporting more sustainable and efficient farming practices. As Terra Littera’s article demonstrates, the GEORGIA project is not only about innovation in theory, but also about delivering tangible results in the field. Boško Oluški’s farm serves as a strong example of how digital technologies can support environmental goals while increasing economic returns.A big thank you to our partner Terra Littera for their valuable contribution and for sharing this example of how the GEORGIA project is making a measurable difference in sustainable agriculture!
