The Region of Peloponnese is a second-degree public authority consisting of 5 prefectures (Messinia, Lakonia, Arcadia, Argolida, Korinthia), located in the southern Greece. As a public body it oversees public works in the fields -among others- of Transportation, Social Welfare & Inclusion, Climate change, Entrepreneurship sustainability with a focus in SMEs, Cultural and Heritage perservation, Tourism enhancement and support to different aspects of Agriculture. The Region through its participation in European Funded Projects as well as with establishing strong cooperation with Ministries, Municipalities and other public or private organizations, strives to uplift sectors that are essential to citizens’ income and diversify local economies, which lead to the sustainability and resilience of the Region’s economical growth.
Activities in the project
In the context of the GEORGIA project, RoP will lead the Pilot implemented in the northeastern Peloponnese region. RoP will play a key role in executing pilot activities, applying newly acquired knowledge to real-world crop production and provide feedback for further analysis.
