GEORGIA at Agrotica 2026

The GEORGIA project proudly participated in the 31st Agrotica Expo, the International Fair for Agricultural Machinery, Equipment & Supplies, held in Thessaloniki from 12–15 March 2026.

Over four days, the exhibition gathered visitors from across Greece and beyond, transforming Thessaloniki into a vibrant hub of knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration in the agricultural sector.

GEORGIA was represented by its Project Coordinator, Synelixis Solutions S.A., and project partner INASO-PASEGES, welcoming visitors at Hall 2, at Synelixis Stand 15 en INASO Stand 44.

Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to explore GEORGIA’s innovative approach to water-smart agriculture, with a strong focus on improving irrigation efficiency and strengthening resilience to drought. Visitors showed particular interest in how the project combines advanced sensing technologies, AI-driven decision support, and agroecological practices to support farmers in adapting to climate challenges.

As highlighted during the event, GEORGIA aims to move beyond traditional irrigation practices by enabling data-driven, precise, and sustainable water management, ensuring that every drop of water is used efficiently and effectively.

Synelixis Solutions S.A. stated:
“It is a great pleasure to participate in Agrotica and engage directly with the agricultural community. GEORGIA is an initiative that brings together cutting-edge digital technologies, such as IoT sensing and AI, with practical farming needs, empowering farmers to make smarter irrigation decisions and build resilience against climate-induced water scarcity.”

INASO–PASEGES added:
“GEORGIA represents a significant step forward for sustainable agriculture in Europe. By supporting farmers with accessible tools and knowledge, the project helps bridge the gap between innovation and everyday agricultural practices, promoting efficient water use and long-term environmental sustainability.”

The strong engagement with stakeholders during the exhibition reaffirmed the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation uptake in addressing current agricultural challenges.

Events like Agrotica provide valuable opportunities to enhance the visibility of GEORGIA’s work, strengthen connections with the farming community, and contribute to the transition towards more resilient and sustainable agricultural systems.
