The GEORGIA project was presented at the \u201cRSCY2026 International Conference on Remote Sensing and Geo-Information of the Environment<\/a>\u201d, held from 27\u201329 April 2026 in Paphos, Cyprus. The conference brought together researchers, scientists, industry representatives, and policymakers working on remote sensing, geo-information technologies, environmental monitoring, and sustainable resource management.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the conference, our partners from the\u00a0Cyprus University of Technology\u00a0<\/span><\/a>(CUT) presented a poster titled:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGEORGIA: Advancing Sustainable Irrigation and Soil Health through AI-Driven Water Management and Circular Resource Use<\/strong>\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The presentation highlighted the project\u2019s broader vision of combining digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and circular approaches to support more sustainable irrigation practices and healthier agricultural systems.<\/p>\n

At the same conference, the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence<\/a> (ECoE) presented the poster:\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSoil Salt Dynamics Under Treated Wastewater and Conventional Water Irrigation in Mediterranean Citrus Orchards: A Continuous Sensor-Based Monitoring Approach<\/strong>\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The work focused on monitoring soil salt dynamics under different irrigation approaches in Mediterranean citrus orchards, demonstrating how continuous sensor-based monitoring can support better understanding of soil and water interactions in agricultural environments.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The ECoE team was represented by Associate Researcher Eleni Neofytou, who presented the GEORGIA poster together with the team from the\u00a0The Cyprus Phassouri Plantations<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(CPPC).<\/span><\/p>\n

Participation in RSCY2026 provided an important opportunity for GEORGIA partners to exchange knowledge with researchers and stakeholders working in remote sensing, geo-information technologies, and sustainable agriculture, while also showcasing how the project contributes to smarter and more resilient water management practices.<\/p>\n
